The Building Science Behind It
We do not just install foam. We verify that the building science keeps working. Temperature, humidity, and dew point are the vitals of a sealed attic, the way a pulse and blood pressure are the vitals of a body. Watch them, and you know whether the system is healthy.
Temperature
In a properly sealed attic, temperature should track much closer to your conditioned living space than to the blistering air outside. A vented Texas attic can hit 150 degrees in July. A conditioned one should not.
Relative humidity
Once an attic is sealed and part of the conditioned envelope, humidity should stay within a comfortable, stable band. Persistently high humidity is a signal that moisture is entering or being generated somewhere it should not be.
Dew point margin
The real question is not the humidity number alone. It is how much room there is between your surface temperatures and the dew point. A healthy margin means condensation stays away from your framing and roof deck.
Why continuous data beats a one-time inspection
A single inspection tells you how your attic looked on one afternoon. It cannot tell you what happened during the first cold snap, the muggiest week of August, or the day your HVAC struggled. When surface temperatures drift too close to the dew point, moisture can condense on framing and the roof deck. We track that margin and flag it before it becomes a problem.
Unusual temperature swings
A conditioned attic should stay steady. Sharp or unexpected swings can point to an HVAC issue, a breach in the envelope, or a change worth a closer look.

If your monitor goes quiet, we treat that as a signal, not silence. We will check on it so you do not have to think about it.

We never access a device without your explicit authorization. Monitoring is opt-in, and the choice is always yours.

Credentials and access tokens are encrypted at rest, so sensitive information is protected even where it is stored.
TLS in transit
Data moving between your attic, our systems, the app, and your portal is protected with encryption in transit.
Role-based permissions
Our employees only have the access their role requires. No one on our team can see more than they need to do their job.

Performance Monitor™ Questions, Answered
How much does the Performance Monitor cost, and is it included?
The Texas Foam Pro Performance Monitor is offered as part of our building science approach to spray foam. It is placed only with your approval, and we will be clear about what is included with your project before anything is installed. If you have questions about your specific estimate, reach out and we will walk you through it.
Do I have to have it?
No. Monitoring is completely optional. We place a monitor in your attic only with your approval, and you can decline it entirely. If you would rather not have a device in your attic, that is perfectly fine, and it does not change the quality of your foam installation.
What happens if the monitor goes offline?
If your monitor stops reporting, we treat that as a signal worth investigating rather than something to ignore. We will look into it and reach out if needed, so you do not have to babysit a device or troubleshoot anything yourself.
Can I turn it off?
Yes. You can revoke authorization at any time, and we will stop accessing the device. You are always in control of whether monitoring is active, and turning it off is straightforward.
What data do you actually see?
We see the readings that describe the health of your attic: temperature, humidity, calculated dew point, device status, and update times. We collect only what is reasonably necessary to provide monitoring, we keep that telemetry separate from unnecessary personal information, and we never sell customer telemetry or personal data.
Does it work with my phone?
Yes. You can check your attic from anywhere using the mobile app on your phone, and you can see the full picture any time through your Texas Foam Pro customer portal. The same live data shows up in both places.
